This week was a big week! We started gettin’ props from Lex & Terry on their nationwide morning radio show. We are thrilled that those guys are excited about YawpBox, and can’t wait to start filming YawpBox TV with them in another month or so. YawpBox TV will be awesome, and will probably be your best chance ever at being on TV. So, upload your great content today!

We’re rolling out a few more features for YawpBox in the coming weeks, so keep coming back. You’ll soon be able to automatically have your contacts searched for friends to invite to YawpBox, and have the opportunity to upload even more photos and videos, either related to featured topics or totally unrelated. And, we’ll also launch our private messaging feature, so you can talk with fellow Yawpers without having to let the world see what you’re up to. So stay tuned…big things to come!

Well, today is the day we send YawpBox.com out into the real world. We are pumped and totally think that this is going to be a wild ride. While there are still a few bugs to work out, and a few features that we will be adding in the coming months, it’s time to kick this bird out of the nest and let it fly.

I hope you will take a minute (seriously, that’s all it’ll take) and sign up with YawpBox, and then look around and find some topics that deal with life experiences you have had. Upload your pictures and videos and tell us your stories. Or, watch some videos and learn about others. After all, life is all about new experiences – having your own and learning about other peoples’. We hope that you’ll make YawpBox your place to do just that. Hopefully you willl make some new friends, be entertained, and grow a little too while you’re here.

We’re having a big party in Dallas in a couple of weeks to celebrate the “official” (whatever that means) launch of the site. And, starting the second week of January, we are going to make public our big partnership announcement with some famous folks you might know. We’ll also tell you more then about other things brewing in the hopper - - our Facebook application, your chance to be on television, and much more.

Thanks for stopping by - - now go start Yawping!

YawpBox has come a long way this fall. I think we’ll be ready to go online in about a month. This is really exciting.

My long time friend Jay Powers caught the YawpBox bug early on and has been so important in turning this thing into reality. Jay and I realized that we had a good idea but needed some technical help making it all happen, so we got the guys at Imaginuity Interactive in Dallas to come on board and build an awesome design on top of this concept. Every day we are one step closer to taking this thing worldwide. We’ve also struck some really cool partnerships with some nationally-recognized media guys (more to follow on this too), so YawpBox will be bigger than we ever imagined coming right out of the gate.

Keep checking the site and within a few more weeks we will release a lot of details!

August 2007

So, last year sometime I heard this story about some friends of mine doing something scandalous, under the cover of night, at a VERY famous country club. It was a great story. But if left me thinking – I wonder how many other people have ever done that?? And, that question prompted me to wonder this: if other people have done the same thing, what would ever prompt them to share their story? Little did I know that those two questions would lead to the birth of YawpBox.

Those questions gnawed on me for a while. I joined the social networking sites and watched the blog explosion on the internet, but one thing was missing. Where is a site that reminds you to tell your own life experiences to others? Every person on the planet has a life that is really just one big combination of thousands and thousands of unique experiences. But, unless someone reminds you of those, or asks you “have you ever…”, most of us rarely talk about the things that make us…well, us.

We’re currently building YawpBox to be a place to do just that. It will be a unique social network that’s not really cluttered by some of the things other social networks are filled with. We just want to be a fun place for you to come and share your own life stories – and the pictures & videos that help you remember them. There’s a lot more to come later…so stay tuned!
