Welcome to YawpBox… an experience like no other. YawpBox is a place to share your
life experiences with everyone else in the world, and keep those experiences cataloged
on your own personal profile. You can find other people who have had similar experiences,
and show all of your fellow Yawpers the things you have done. Other Yawpers can
vote on how cool, outrageous, funny, or ridiculous your experiences are. To top
it off, YawpBox TV will take this content and film a television show in March 2008.
If your experiences make the cut, you will be on TV!
Getting Started:
To register as a user, click on
“Sign Up” in the top right corner of the YawpBox
homepage. After you have entered your information, click on SUBMIT and you will
be taken to the YawpBox homepage. Click on the “Profile” tab at any time, which
will take you to your personal profile. On your profile you will see a link titled
“Edit Profile”. Click on
“Edit Profile” and you will be taken to the page that allows
you to upload your user picture(avatar), and all of your “About Me” information.
Once you have done that, click on UPDATE and you are ready to experience what YawpBox
is all about! You can then start uploading photos, videos, and creating
journal entries about your life experiences. Remember, you can always go to the
YAWPBOX homepage by clicking on “YAWPBOX” on the top left or to your own personal
profile by clicking on the “Profile” tab.
The best way to start the YawpBox experience is to start looking at the topics under
each category. To look at all of the categories and topics, simply click the “Topics”
tab at the top of the page. Then click on
“View All” next to the category you want
to view. This will take you to a page with all of the topics under that category.
To view other users’ content on a topic, click on the topic text or on the pictures.
If you want to upload your content to this topic, click on
“Upload My Story” and
follow the instructions below.
Uploading Content:
Each of the different categories on YawpBox have topics under them for Yawpers to
upload their life experiences. For example, the category “Events” has topics such
as “I hold the record…prove it” and “Share your best sports experience.”
To upload content for the
“Share your best sports experience” topic, you need to
click on
“ Upload My Story”.. This will take you to a page that allows you to upload
a Journal, Photo and/or Video about your experience. You can upload
any combination of those types of content. Simply click on the one you want to do
first and it will prompt you to fill in the information needed to upload. After
you are finished with that portion of your upload, then hit SUBMIT. You can then
click on any of the other icons (Video, Photo, or Journal) to upload more
content to the topic or you can click on FINISH at the bottom right and go back
to your profile. You can always edit or delete any of the entries you have submitted.
If you want to mark a topic for future uploading or it is something you want to
do later, you can click on “Yawp this Later” and it will save that on your profile
page under
“Yawp this Later”.
Eventually, on your profile page you will see
four orange circles near your avatar.
Those circles will link to all of your uploaded content, and allow you to upload
additional pictures and videos that you want on your profile.
Other Yawpers and friends:
To become friends with other Yawpers, simply go to their profile and click on “ADD
TO YAWPERS I KNOW”. This will send a prompt to them on their profile page and they
can ACCEPT or DECLINE your request to be your Yawper Friend. Always be looking on
your personal profile page to ACCEPT or DECLINE people that want you to be their
friend. After you start uploading content under the topics, people can see and learn
all about the experiences you have had in your life! Your experiences might be funny,
stupid, accidental, adventurous, outrageous, miraculous, romantic, serious or whatever.
Just have a good time and LAUGH!!! You can post comments on the profile pages for
the world to see, and later this spring you will have the ability to send private
messages to other Yawpers.
Voting and TV Show:
YawpBox TV will incorporate content from the entire site. Voting on the content
will play a big role in creating the TV show. To vote on the content, you can click
on the
green thumbs up or the
red thumbs down by each content entry. The highest
rated content, as selected by the users, is what will most likely be put on our
TV show! There are currently 65 topics, and we will be adding topics every week
which will display across the homepage. You can always upload content under previous
topics, accessible through the “Topics” tab, which we will be reviewing for our
show. Just start uploading your content that relates to the topics and see what
happens!
Games:
Under the “Games” tab, you can play unique games provided by YawpBox and challenge
your friends to test their skills. We will be adding many more games throughout
the next few months. YawpBox games are a good place to relax and have fun while
you think about what life experiences you want to Yawp about next!
Submit a Topic:
This tab allows you and other Yawpers to propose different topics and life experiences
that you would like to see featured on YawpBox. You control YawpBox, so tell us
what you want!
